The Flu!

Being sick these days doesn't mean much other than I'm sick and things, like my rubber spatula, might end up being melted?
Hubby was making grill cheese!
Being New Year's Eve there is no school schedule for us. We have been "school" free for a good week now and will be for the rest of this week too. Now, that my kids are high schoolers I just have to make sure they know what I want done so even if I end up under the weather they can still work.

When they were younger if one of them were sick or if I was sick we just didn't do school. It was easier to keep them on the same schedule and easier on me too. If you are sick take the time to get yourself better or the time for the kids to get better. Remember you have control over the schedule what is and is not a school day and there is no rule that says you have to start on this date or end by that date. -- that's one of the major beauties of homeschooling.

It sucks I'm bringing in the new year with the flu! Confirmed flu:

tested positive for Influenza A
On Friday I woke up feeling like I got hit by a train. Saturday I felt much of the same and decided to go to the doctor and get tested for the flu. I figured it was either the flu or a really bad cold. I knew if I got tested early enough I could get put on tamiflu -- which is why I went vs just waiting it out.

Seeing I'm sick, especially knowing it's the flu, I have been trying to avoid doing things like cooking and just hanging out in my room. Which is how my spatula ended up melted. My loving, caring, husband made some grill cheese sandwiches and for whatever reason thought the rubber spatula was the appropriate tool to flip them which is why it ended up melted.

Well, I hope you New Year's Eve going well and you have great plans for the New Years. I hope you are not sick! I was going to use this week to enter in grades, go over goals, adjust goals as needed for the rest of the school year, but yeah -- that's not happening! Maybe towards the end of the week if I start feeling up to it.
