Simple Woman's Daybook: October Edition

For Today

For more daybooks check out Simple Woman's Daybook

Looking Out My Window: It's a breezy day. The fall colors are starting to appear on the trees.

I Am Thinking: How am I going to pay for my son's college? We are very proud of him getting accepted into the program and college he wanted. We just have to now figure out how to cover the cost.

I Am Thankful: That as for right now both kids seem to have some post-high school plans.  I'm not sharing my daughter's plans right now, because she has to flush some things out. However, I'm glad that she seems to have a plan.

One Of My Favorite Things: My dog. I really love my dog and how she likes to hang out with me. I often find her snuggling with me on the couch, or in bed, etc. I'm so thankful to have her apart of my life right now.

I'm Creating: Nothing special. Just lesson plans for the girl.

I Am Wearing: Sweats. It's cold here in northern Illinois. We have had to turn the heat on so I have been wearing sweats.

I Am Reading: Some marketing and blogging for books for knowledge. I also have been trying to finish up 30-day bible study.

I Am Hoping: We figure out the financing for my son's college. It's hard to believe that this time next year he will be a college student.

I Am Learning: hmmm. This one is hard to fill out. Although, thinking on it some I am learning how to cook more low carb options. I'm actively trying to lose weight under the care of my doctor and one thing she wants me to do is eat more low carbs foods.

In The Kitchen: Lots of cooking with the pressure cooker. A year ago, my husband bought me a pressure cooker. It's something I use at least once a week if not more.  Soups form dry beans in hours. Roasts, that are tender and awesome, in less than an hour. If you don't have a pressure cooker you should consider getting one.

In The School Room: These days there is not much to share from the school room. I mean WP is being homeschooled still, but with it being her junior year she does most things on her own with little to no direct help for me. It's one thing that has been great is that she has learned to be a self-learner. One thing we are using is Mango Languages. She's learning Spanish.

Post Script: One of my favorite sites: The Homeschool Resource Roadmap.

A Moment From My Day:

Closing Notes: Thanks for visiting. I'm glad you are here. I decided to do this daybook, but several years ago I use to do them. It was harder to do than I remembered, so I'm not sure if I will continue to do them, but I'm glad I did.
